21/07/1956 Last of the \"Lickey Banker\" - Locomotive 58100 withdrawn The only locomotive of its kind in the world-No. 58100-has been withdrawn from service on the London Midland Region and has gone to Derby Works for breaking up. But, the cylinders are to be retained as an item of special interest with particular reference to the design, which incorporates cross ports and make it possible for one piston valve to supply steam to both cylinders on one side of the engine. The electric headlight and equipment which was fitted after the 0-10-0 locomotive had been put into service has been transferred to Engine No. 92079, 2-10-0 Freight Tender which has now taken over the duties formerly carried out by No. 58100.
