31/07/1947 SR Central Section At the end of July and the beginning of August a number of specials were worked to Newhaven conveying parties of Boy Scouts for the World Jamboree in France. Those from Victoria were of electric stock, but several steam specials were handed over by the G.W.R. at Reading and sent forward by the S.R. via Redhill, and others from the L.M.S. were worked via Willesden and Clapham Junc. One of these, on July 30th, the 5.40 a.m. from Birmingham (New St.), was worked forward from Addison Road by 'Ul' 1910(BAT). The L.M.S. stock was used afterwards to work the 7.36 p.m. Up Newhaven to Victoria relief Boat Train before being returned to the L.M.S. SLS/194709
