Kowloon |
The locomotives seen at Kowloon were Nos. 77490 and 77478 (not 77470). I saw the S.S. Glenogle in the King George V Dock, London, on 4/11/46, with No. 77478 on board,. It was carried on deck, on the port side, forward of the bridge. No. 77490 was on the quay alongside. An excellent picture of No. 77478 being slung aboard was printed in the Daily Graphic on Thursday, 7/11/46. |

General |
Further to the report about the W.D. 2-8-0 being seen in the East there is the possibility that these may not be for the Kowloon-Canton Railway, as the S.S. Glenogle was seen in the Kowloon anchorage recently with two locos. on board. These being Nos. 77490 and ? 77470. The latter number is doubtful at the time of writing. |
