Grouping Company Great Western Railway
Description (1957) Dean and Churchward 5' 8" 4-4-0's with outside frames, built between 1899 and 1910. The majority of the class carried miscellaneous names, the last fifteen, Nos. 3441-3455, being named after birds. The class was generally known as 'Bulldogs', the name carried by No. 3311, one of the original locomotives. No. 3335 was the only survivor of the earlier series which had curved frames over the driving wheels, the later ones having straight frames. The last of the class was withdrawn in 1951.
