Historical Data |
Ramsbottom 0-4-0ST for use in docks - had a launch-type boiler which had a circular firebox as an extension of the boiler so there was no downward extension which allowed the rear wheels to be placed further back. This was ideal for locomotives that were meant for dock work as the rear overhang was small and the buffers therefore did not swing out far on tight curves. Webb also made 20 further engines, 3 of which were converted to 0-4-2ST Crane Tanks in 1893. |
