Description (1957) |
Classes D1 and D2. G.N.R. Ivatt 6'8" 4-4-0's, built 1898-1909 (class D2), and 1911 (class Dl, Nos. 62203 upwards). In the two classes there were originally 85 locomotives. Some class D2 engines were superheated and as such were similar in appearance to the slightly more powerful Dl's. Nos. 62150 ,4ind 62152-4 had flat running plates and resembled class D3. Class Dl engines were dual fitted with Westinghouse in addition to vacuum brakes. All were scrapped by 1951. |
