Description (1957) Class K4. Gresley 5'2" 3-cylinder engines for the West Highland line, built 1937-38. No. 61997 was rebuilt by Thompson in 1945 with 2 cylinders and reclassified K1, forming the prototype for the new series commencing 62001 built in 1949-50.
