Description (1957) |
Class N7/4. Hill's design of 4'10" 0-6-2T's for the Great Eastern suburban services. Built between 1915 and 1924, originally with Belpaire fireboxes, but all have now received Gresley round-topped boilers.
Classes N7/1, N7/2, N7/3 and N7/5, Gresley's development of the original G.E.R. design, some constructed with Belpaire fireboxes, but most of the later ones were built new with round-topped boilers. The majority of the Belpaires have since been rebuilt to conform with the later locomotives. |
