Report Date Title Report Source
15/09/1947 Coalport Branch For a considerable time ex L.N.W.R. 0-6-2 'Coal' tanks have monopolised the passenger service on this branch, with ex L.N.W.R. 0-6-0 'Cauliflowers' relieving when a 'Coal' tank was not available. However, during the first half of September ex L.N.W.R. 2-4-2T No. 6757 was observed on the branch and this must be considered most unusual as the 'Bank' from Coalport-Madeley Market is 1 in 40 with a stretch of 1 in 31! (6757 is actually a Carmarthen engine and was ex works). SLS/194712
