21/12/1946 Crewe Works 1201 (Paint date 21/12) and 1203 were both in traffic at Crewe on 21/12 as also was 6118 (newly rebuilt) SLS/194701
31/12/1948 Crewe Works New Work December: 'IVĀ° more '2F' 2-6-0's were completed dunng December-Nos. 46433 and 46434 on 8/12 and 13/12 respectively, thus completing the present order. Tne last Caprotti 4-6-0 of Order E 468, No. 44757, was completed on 22/12. No. 44728 (No. 11 of Order E 472) was completed on 31/12; the first ten of this order are to be built at Horwich. Another 'Patriot' Class 4-6-0, No. 45534, has been rebuilt with a taper boiler-completed on 10/12. No. 45522 will shortly be similarly dealt with.

21/06/1959 Tredegar MPD The Barry Island Sunday excursions, for so long worked by ex-L.N.W. 0-8-0s from this shed are now worked by 66XX tanks. On shed at Tredegar, 21st June were-3700 (86K), 5727, 5768 (86B), 6439 (86A), 6600, 9662, 40098 (86K), 40161 (stored), 40171 (86K), 41201/4. SLS/195907
22/08/1959 Tredegar MPD (in store at Newport Pill) Following the allocation of 3712, 7736/87, 8711 an 9662 (w.e. 22/8) the former LMS engines are now in store at Newport Pill viz. 40098/161/71, 41201/4. 40091/145, formerly stored at Pontypool Road, have been returned to the LMR and are at Blackpool and Southport. 22/10/1959 Wellington MPD Ivatt 2-6-2T 41201 (86K), lately stored at Newport Pill has been transferred here and is at present working the Crewe line (stabling overnight at the former GW depot at Gresty Lane); a further arrival is 41241 ex 82F. 9000 class 9004/14 are in store here-the other three of the class are also stored, viz., 9015/7 at Aberystwyth and 9018 at Oswestry. 03/01/1960 Seacombe-Bidston This former Wirral Rly. branch, until recently worked by G.C.R. 4-4-2Ts on Wrexham trains, had an ex-LMS 2-6-2T and a standard Swindon built 2-6-2T on its last trains; 41201 worked the last train ex Seacombe on Sunday 3rd January (9-1 p.m.) and 82031 arrived at 10.20 p.m. on the last train into Seacombe and worked back to Chester with the empty stock. The branch will presumably be kept open for Gas Works traffic, except at the station end; L.N.W.R. signals still exist at the south side of the bridge at Seacombe station. SLS/196002
