05/03/1949 Renumbering 3 cyl. 2-6--4T: The first class of any size to be completely renumbered into British Railways' stock is the ex L.M.S. 3 cyl. 2-6-4 tank. With the re-numbering of No. 42504 on 5/3, the series is complete; Nos. 42500-29 are at 13D, and 42530-36 at 13A. Possibly the transfer of the Tilbury Section to the Eastern Region had something to do with this. SLS/194905
