30/04/1949 Mirfield Area February-April 1949: 'Royal Scot's' and rebuilt 'Patriot's' are now working occasionally on the Central Division. They usually appear on the 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Liverpool (Lime Street)- Newcastle trains, returning on the 1.5 p.m. ex Leeds-Newcastle-Liverpool train and the 8.8 p.m. ex Leeds-Liverpool stopping train. Until recently, the turns appear to have been on Mondays only, when the 9 a.m. ex Liverpool is loaded to thirteen or fourteen bogies, but in the last week or two they have appeared more frequently. The following have so far been noted:-Nos. 46106/23/24/34/35/44/56/64 an 45521/26. Class '8' W.D. locomotives are also becoming prominent, a large number having arrived at Rose Grove and one or two at Millhouse, though these may have moved to Rose Grove within the last few days. Apart from several from the N.E. Area, some have been noted ex Scotland, and two-Nos. 90206 an 90713-ex store on the former G.W. Rly.; the last two having passed through Crewe Works. Most of the remaining ex L. & Y. Class '3' rebuilt 2-4-2T's are now in this area and Nos. 50891, 50909/25 are performing regular duties on local trains. SLS/194906
08/08/1959 Kentish Town MPD The allocation of Royal Scot Class engines is to be 46103/23/30/2/3/40/2/60. The original two are 46103/33 and at time of going to press 46123 was u/r at Edge Hill, 46103/32 u/r at Kentish Town and 46140 had not arrived yet. Six Britannias are still at Trafford Park. 03/06/1962 Saltley MPD The following Royal Scots have been placed in store-46103/22/32/60 all ex Works; 46157/62; 46123 was under repair on 3rd June but was also scheduled for storage. SLS/196207
17/03/1963 Carlisle Upperby MPD (Stored) In steam at Upperby on 17th March were 46221/35/7/8/45. Stored on same day at Upperby-46106/8/23/7/34/250; SLS/196304
01/04/1963 Cardiff (Stored) The E.E. Type 3s now being delivered are being sent after acceptance trials at Doncaster and not in order; D6821 was delivered l.e, via GC line 19th April, D6822 via London 24th April, staying overnight at Willesden (and sent to Cardiff 25/4); D6834/5 were delivered l.e. via GC line 24th April, and D6836 on 30th April (D7076/8 were attached to latter as far as swindon). The two E.E.s D6742/3 which have been on crew training since October, 1962, were returned to the E.R. on 22nd April. SLS/196304
