Historical Data Built for the intensive suburban line services of the Manchester South Junction and Altrincham Railway but worked by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, precursors of the Great Central.
Six of the 8 engines were converted for motot fitting, commencing in 1906. This was due to their relegation from the MSJAR services when Parker and Pollitt 2-4-2T's were introduced. These engines were redesignated 12AM (M for Motor fitted)
They played out the rest of their careers on branch line work all over the GCR system.
