| Description (1957) |
Class J72, a unique class of Worsdell 0-6-0T's. The original 85 engines were built between 1898 and 1925, the class being perpetuated by British Railways and a further 28 locomotives constructed 1949-51. No parallel example can be found in the British Isles, and probably not in the world, of a design being constructed at intervals over a period of fifty-four years practically without alteration. |
