19/10/1930 Peterborough MPD (8P) The quoted date of closure of Peterborough (8P) as 1924 is too early. I should like to state that this date is much too early as I visited the shed on Sunday, 19th October, 1930 when it contained the following locos.-Kirtley 2-4-0 No. 21, 0-6-0 No. 2434, Johnson 2-4-0 Nos. 100/87, 0-6-0's 3358, 3602 and Class 4 0-6-0 4098/9, 4518-20. Although there were no L.N.W.R. locos. present on this occasion, ' Jumbos ' bearing 8P shed-plates were still to be seen at Rugby as late as 1928 (5018 Talavera, being noted by me in November, 1928).
