| Description (1957) |
4' 7½" 0-6-0PT's of various classes, with minor differences, built at Swindon and Wolverhampton between 1879 and 1901. Originally constructed as saddle tanks, the survivors had been gradually rebuilt over a long period with the square pannier type. No. 1715 had been sold to the Neath & Brecon Railway in 1914 and came back to the Great Western under its original number at the grouping. No. 2756 had similarly been the property of the Rhondda & Swansea Bay Railway. All these engines had been scrapped by 1951. |
