| Description (1957) |
Class J17 G.E.R. Holden 4'11" Belpaire 0-6-0's, built 1900-11. Most of the class originally had round-topped boilers; all are now superheated. Ninety engines in the class, the engine that would have become No. 65550 (formerly No. 8200) having been destroyed by a German rocket in 1944. All of the remainder survived until 1954 after which several withdrawals took place. |
